When it comes to sanitation and safety standards in the dairy industry, there’s no more qualified body than the 3A Sanitary Standards, Inc. seal of approval. Founded in the 1920s, 3A represents the associations interested in improving quality standards and equipment in the dairy processing industry, both at the time and today: namely, the regulatory sanitarians, the equipment fabricators, and the processors themselves.

The 3A council provides stringent regulations and rules of compliance in an effort to ensure the safety and peace of mind of everyone in the dairy industry, from farmers to consumers and everyone in between. As an independent third-party verification (TPV) system, 3-A SSI compliance means that every detail, from the materials used to the design of the system, will pass the test of sanitation across the country.

Sanitary pumps are a vital part of dairy processing operations, if only because of the high volume of liquids that need transferring for making milk, butter, cheese, yogurt, and creams. It’s easier to remove liquids from a 55 gallon (or 208.2 liter) drum barrel with a sanitary drum pump than other methods.

Our 3A Drum Pumps and Air-Operated Double Diaphragm pumps are designed to be hygienic and food-safe while delivering the highest quality operation systems possible. Dairy products differ in their viscosity, shear sensitivity, and ratio of solids, but the right sanitary pumps will make any job more efficient.
